University of Peshawar Shuts Down Nine Undergraduate Programmes Amid Record-Low Enrolment

پشاور (خصوصی رپورٹ) — یونیورسٹی آف پشاور، جو کہ ملک کی ایک قدیم اور نامور جامعات میں شمار ہوتی ہے، نے داخلوں کی کم تعداد کے باعث اپنے نو (9) بی ایس پروگرامز بند کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا ہے۔ یہ وہ ادارہ ہے جہاں کبھی داخلہ لینا ہزاروں طلباء کا خواب ہوا کرتا تھا، مگر اب کئی مضامین میں طلباء کی کمی کے باعث کلاسز ہی شروع نہیں ہوں گی۔

یونیورسٹی آف پشاور کے ڈائریکٹوریٹ آف ایڈمیشنز کی جانب سے جاری کردہ نوٹیفکیشن (نمبر 3768-78 / 20 اکتوبر 2025ء) کے مطابق، جن پروگرامز میں داخل طلباء کی تعداد 15 سے کم ہے، انہیں یونیورسٹی کے ضوابط کے تحت منسوخ تصور کیا گیا ہے۔

نوٹیفکیشن میں واضح طور پر کہا گیا ہے کہ درج ذیل بی ایس پروگرامز میں داخل طلباء کی تعداد مقررہ حد سے کم پائی گئی:

یاد رہے کہ پشاور یونیورسٹی ماضی میں پاکستان کے ممتاز علمی و تحقیقی مراکز میں شمار ہوتی رہی ہے۔ ماہرینِ تعلیم کے مطابق، طلباء کی کم تعداد کی وجوہات میں محدود فنڈنگ، نئے ڈیجیٹل اور سائنسی مضامین کی طرف طلباء کا رجحان، اور بڑھتی ہوئی نجی یونیورسٹیوں کی مسابقت شامل ہیں۔

یونیورسٹی انتظامیہ نے عندیہ دیا ہے کہ وہ آئندہ تعلیمی سیشنز میں پروگرامز کے ازسرِ نو جائزے کے بعد فیصلہ کرے گی کہ کن مضامین کو دوبارہ شروع کیا جا سکتا ہے۔
